Model Search
We are currently looking for aspiring models to work with us on our product photos for our web store. We will shoot in Palestine, Texas. Young ladies from the Athens, Tyler, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Elkhart, Crockett, areas are within an hour drive of us. We are interested in models from other cities (Houston / DFW) but understand it is a drive for those.
What you can expect from us...
Professionalism...We want to have a good reputation as a company that is fun to model for and that you, the model, have gained something from working with us.
There are a few items that are sexy, but not too revealing. No Nudity. We will show you the outfits we want you to model before hand, then we shoot. No surprises. We will talk about the shoot plenty before we fire up the lights.
Good equipment... We have good equipment, that means good pics for us both to use.
Backdrops...We are working cool settings for the shoots with some props. We think you will be happy with how your pics will come out. There wont be much setting changes as we are looking for a certain continuity throughout our site, and we may do a few shots outside if the weather is good and the lighting is right.
We provide clothing...We have outfits we need pictures of. These will be from our inventory stock.
Patience and Courtesy...We will have patience with you and be very respectful, We would like those same attributes returned to us - it makes every thing go so much smoother!
Willing to listen to your ideas...Got an idea while we shoot? Let us know! We do not pretend to know it all.
The Pay...TFCD Time for CD...This means no real pay-but, You will receive a CD of the shoot and a copy of the edited video( if we shoot video). These pics and video can be used for your self-promotion. You will also receive a 15% discount when ordering from DeliciouslyDark.com for life!
Normally we will not pay cash for an aspiring model’s time, but if you live a ways off from Palestine, we will most likely throw in some cash for gas. This to be determined on a case by case basis.
We pay for server space and bandwidth to post your photos and contact information. We also pay for advertising, which your shots may be on! This is worth something if you are serious about getting your face out there!
What you can gain from modeling for us...
Experience... This shoot will allow you to gain some experience in front of the camera. That is what modeling is all about. It takes experience to go forward in your modeling career. You’ll get experience in posing, working with available light, and working with people.
Web Exposure...Your shoot will provide us with product pics that we will use online. These pics will be up 24/7 for a very long time. Every person that visits the site will see your face. We will use the photos in other sites that point to our store and will be in some photo sites as well as our own gallery site. That’s great exposure! This will allow you to point others to these pics to prove that you have some experience.
Photos to be used in your own portfolio...If you are serious about modeling you will start or already have some type of portfolio. This shoot will allow you to add to that portfolio for a pretty good price...free!
Who and what we’re looking for...We are looking for aspiring alternative lifestyle (goth, romantic goth, vamp, pin up, etc.) females that are around 5’ to 5’10’’ tall. Your skin has to be clear. Some plus size models are needed, but mostly a pretty fit body is required. We will be looking for “the look”. It is hard to explain, but we know it when we see it. We are not really in to big theatrical, commercial smiles and craziness for these shoots. We are looking more for a hint of mystery, sultry look, and self reflection. Subtlety in facial expressions are needed.
Male models will be needed in the future, we will make a call for those when we are ready.
What you need to bring...
Bring a friend, or chaperone... We allow one friend or chaperone to accompany at the shoot. They can watch the shoot, but we ask they just hang out quietly while we work. They can help you with outfit changes, hair, makeup and just be there for your support
If you are selected to be a model, we will discuss the outfits we will provide for you to wear. We may or may not have makeup and hair available the day of the shoot so be prepared to do your own. Bring your own makeup. If we want a more pale skin-we like to go about 2 shades lighter than your own skin.
Please have your nails looking good! Painted black. Fake nails are ok as long as they are not too long.
We may ask if you have a certain pair of shoes in your closet that you could bring along. Your own would be more comfortable, and clean.
After we discuss the outfits you will model, you will need certain clothing to achieve a certain look we are after. We suggest bring a push-up, and a strapless bra, We will not need to see panty lines, so whatever you have to do to achieve that...
Bring a CD or mp3 player with music you like... it will help you relax, get in the mood for shots and plus...we like music too.
Bring a good attitude! Be prepared to have fun! We are here to get good product pics, that means that the main focus is the product. But... at the same time we will get great shots for you to use. Once we get the product pics accomplished, then we will focus more on you!
Be prepared to...
Be prepared to work! Modeling is not as easy as it looks. Sometime holding a certain look or pose is not very comfortable, but we know that too, and will try to get through the tough stuff a quickly as possible.
Be prepared to work about 3 hours (depending on the shoot) and change about 3 times
Be prepared to eat! You could be here for up to 3 hours, we will provide some food!
Be prepared to take direction. We will ask you to stand a certain way, hold your hands a certain way, face a certain way. We will be polite, we will not ask you to do anything vulgar, and we will not ask you to take your clothes off.
How to submit for selection...After reading all of this and the terms page as well, you should get a feel for how we do things. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to email us. If you want to submit for selection please do the following...
1. Send 3 pictures of yourself - 1 head shot (so we can see your face, complexion, and hair color)
2. 2 Shots full body (we need to see your body overall, from front and side, jeans and t shirt are fine, just no fluffy stuff please)
3. Tell us a little about yourself Height, weight, where you live, contact inf, etc.
4. Tell us your availability (weekdays, weekends, evenings etc.)

We contact you and let you know we selected you.
